As for my TSS favorites, my all-time favorite character is Argost, but I also really like Drew and Munya, Munya for his loyalty and love toward Argost, and Drew for her take-no-crap, kick-butt attitude. My favorite episodes include “King of Kumari Kandam”, “Once More the Nightmare Factory”, “Kur Rising” and “Into the Mouth of Darkness”, but I have others I like. I own a lot of SS merchandise, mostly the action figures and toys. I have them proudly displayed in my room. ^^
And of course you may read New Beginnings, any friend of Bekah’s is a friend of mine. We haven’t completely finished it though but there’s enough story to satisfy, I think. I’ve sent it in an attached file, I do hope you enjoy it.
Yeah, I heard from Bekah about what happened on FF.net, that’s just stupid. You’d think people would have better things to do with their time. And they’re so hypocritical, supporting pedophilia and child-smut, but not Argost and Munya. Heck, as far as I’m concerned, Argost/Munya is a canon pairing. Especially after the events in “Kur Rising”, I’m convinced that they love each other. I guess that the Mary-Sues don’t want to see two men in love, so they slash up poor Zak in the weirdest of relationships! It makes me sick.
I know, I left FF.net for those reasons, the final straw being when one of my fanfics was slandered for apparently no reason whatsoever. Plus, I can’t stand all the badfic there. It’s just…just…horrible.
I know! Munya and Argost have a solid canon relationship. I loved that scene in “Twelve Hundred Degrees Farenheit” when Munya saved him from the collapsing building. You can tell that he really cares about Argost, especially in “Kur Rising” when he saved his life and disobeyed a direct order just so Argost wouldn’t get hurt anymore. Argost seems to appreciate Munya, too; he’s never degraded him, yelled at him, or counted on him to do all the work, as I see in most master/servant relations. I really hope they build on their relationship in this season and (hopefully) the seasons to come. Are we getting another season, anyway? Did anyone say anything about it?
I was actually very, VERY surprised when Finster said that Argost used to be poor. I always thought he came from a rich family, since he acts like such an aristocrat. There goes my fanfic idea about Argost’s life and times…*sigh*
That’s horrible what you’ve had to go through on FF.net; you’re right, most of the people there don’t know jack-squat about TSS and just use the show as an excuse to drop their horribly lame OC in. And they get tons of hits while the stories that are actually GOOD are overlooked and slandered for no reason whatsoever. And Drew/Van Rook and Argost/Munya are about as “unrealistic” as the very earth we’re standing on. What is wrong with these people?!
What the hell, how is having faith that TSS won’t be cancelled making you a “traitor” to the show? If anything, it means you’re a real true-blue fan. They’re actually talking like they WANT it to be cancelled, and what kind of fan wants something like that?! Man, you guys are right when you say that these people don’t know anything about TSS. Or any show, for that matter. Geez.
Personally I don’t think crying is a sign of weakness. If you read “New Beginnings” (and I do hope you’re enjoying it so far!) Argost tends to get very, VERY emotional over things. I don’t think of Argost as a monstrous, emotionless man; no one is like that. He’s shown canon emotions like fear, pain, and happiness. Who’s to say he can’t feel sadness, too?
Okay, that just makes me mad. My response to this (and feel free to take this directly to FF.net if you want) is the following:
Drew/Van Rook, as far as we know, is canon, at least in a one-sided way. Drew admitted herself that they dated in college and that she almost married him; even if she didn’t say that latter part directly you can tell she did by the way she reacted in Target: Fiskerton. Van Rook, in turn, hits on Drew nearly every chance he gets, even when Drew isn’t around (he told Zak to give his regards to Drew in “Beasts of the 5th Sun”). He’s a lovesick puppy who’s still not over her, and that has been proven. Even when he SAYS he’s not over her, he continues to hit on her. Also, Drew and Van Rook never met in the TSS comics; the comic starring Van Rook featured Abbey, not Drew.
Also, Argost/Munya is perfectly plausible. Munya is NOT a bodyguard; it has been proven that Argost is a master hand-to-hand combatist and doesn’t need protecting in grave situations. Munya is a servant, although Argost treats him less like a servant and more like a partner-in-crime. Munya shares in the spoils of Argost’s victories, and Argost has never degraded him or betrayed him like one would normally do to a servant. Also they have shown canon concern for one another and Munya has shown full well that he likes Argost. In “Target Fiskerton” he shot Argost a jealous look when Argost referred to Piecemeal as a “beautiful creature”, and he is very protective of Argost overall. In “Cryptid vs. Cryptid” the two protected each other while advancing through the tomb of Kur, Munya being ready to drop everything and fight the second a threat to Argost may have appeared. In “Kur Rising”, probably the most d**ning evidence of the two’s relationship was what happened after Munya (canonically!) dove into a swarm of bloodthirsty Cryptids to save Argost’s life. Argost was beaten badly, weakened and most likely near death, yet he says to Munya, and these are his exact words: “Whatever happens to me…I want you to make them HURT.” Munya refuses a direct order and instead focuses on getting Argost to safety, even when Argost tells him to stop. This proves that he cares about Argost’s wellbeing more than he cares about his job. Also, no amount of money could ever buy what Munya’s loyalty has been through; only a deep and powerful bond could cause you to throw yourself in harm’s way at the drop of a hat just to save someone else. I could go on and on about this, but I think you’ll get my point when I say Argost/Munya IS canon, whether the fans like it or not.
It also irks me how people bash your pairing preferences, yet they don’t bash other peoples’ pairings, like Zak/Doyle or Zak/OC or some crazy crap like that. It’s like they’re all against having you do what you enjoy. Stupid little children.
Wow, that is so cool! It’s great that you’re able to contact the cast and crew members and ask them questions about the animation world. Corey Burton seems like a very nice guy =)
